Scenes from a marriage
Yesterday Zach and I got in a little tiff over a conversation about bicycles.
Reason? He did not react to my proposal of “we should get new bikes this summer” the way I wanted him to.
I expected, “Yes! That’s a great idea! Oh, lovely wife, you are the smartest most wonderful person in the world. What a wonderful suggestion. I am truly the luckiest man on earth.” and I got “Maybe. I don’t know. You don’t really like riding bikes that much for us to spend a bunch of money on them.”
I then proceeded to get upset because I felt like he took all the air out of my balloon.
Don’t you know you’re supposed to say what I want you to say at all times? !
I swear I’m grown.
